    ABOUT

In my practice, I work with adults and couples. I specialize in working with anxiety and shame, grief and loss, trauma, living with chronic illness, and developing resilience in caregiving.

I became a therapist because I am a resilient person who likes providing people with an opportunity to grow. I became a trauma therapist because I’m a logical person who is deeply appreciative of the illogical parts of a person—the parts that are about human connection, intuition, avoiding danger, and feeling right with yourself.

I strongly believe in supporting the autonomy of the client; you decide if something works for you or not, because therapy supports your development of a clearer bird’s-eye view of your internal experiences and interpersonal relationships. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and am equally comfortable working with people in traditional and nontraditional relationships.

I believe the body is important when we talk about mental health. They say that 15% of communication is the content of what is said; the rest is tone of voice and body language. The two main modalities I use in therapy, Somatic Experiencing and NARM, both acknowledge the body’s role in addressing mental health symptoms by helping clients notice what they are feeling physically in the present moment when talking about the things they want to work on in their lives.

I have a specific interest in working with medical trauma and medical advocacy in adults living with chronic illness and in parents raising medically complex and neurodivergent children. It can be especially difficult to navigate the medical system and to feel safe when living with medical uncertainty. It can also be difficult for parents to manage the depth and breadth of responsibilities that come with medical caregiving while maintaining a healthy attachment relationship. I help clients explore and address what they need to feel safe and to address their goals.

I currently offer both psychotherapy sessions and coaching sessions via telehealth.
